Growing Healthy Children Application Packet

This is the application for your program to receive a "Growing Healthy Children" Recognition Level.

Childcare programs like yours work hard to create a safe environment that promotes learning and fosters healthy habits.  We encourage you to submit this application for the opportunity to receive "Growing Healthy Children" Recognition in one of three levels.  

Criteria for Emerging, Blossoming, and Thriving childcare programs are detailed below.   Awarded childcare programs will also be publicized through soical media and other web content.  This is rolling application.  That means you can apply at any time throughout the year.  Recognition is awarded annually based on progress made in one year from the date of application submission.  Deadline to apply each year for Recognition is June 15th.  Application received after that date will be eligible the following year.  Programs receiving awards will be recognized at our Annual Meeting of the Members. Program requirements may change annually.  Any changes or modifications for the next year will be made after the June 15 deadline.

Levels of Recognition

 

Emerging Childcare Programs 

Childcare programs who receive the “Emerging” designation are laying a strong foundation for improving the health of young children through practices, policies, and environments that instill habits supporting lifelong health and well-being. "Emerging" Programs connected to Go NAPSACC will have completed the following:

1 Full Cycle 

Self-Assessment

2-3 Goals / Action Plans Created 

2-3 Goals Completed 

2nd Self-Assessment Completed 

5% Overall Best Practice Score Improvement 

Blossoming Childcare Programs 

Programs that receive the “Blossoming” designation build upon the requirements of Emerging programs.  "Blossoming" Programs connected to Go NAPSACC will have completed the following:

2 Full Cycles

Self-Assessments across 2 Content Areas

2-3 Goals / Action Plans Created per Content Area

2-3 Goals Completed per Content Area 

2nd Self-Assessments Completed across same 2 Content Areas 

5% Overall Best Practice Score Improvement across both content areas

Thriving Childcare Programs 

The “Thriving” designation is our highest level of recognition.  A program's ability to make lasting change to both the environment and policies is a sign of success and sustainability.  "Thriving" Programs connected to Go NAPSACC will have completed the following:

4 Full Cycles

Self-Assessments across 4 Content Areas

2-3 Goals / Action Plans Created per Content Area

2-3 Goals Completed per Content Area 

2nd Self-Assessments Completed across same 4 Content Areas 

5% Overall Best Practice Score Improvement across all 4 content areas

Thank you for your application!  We will be in touch soon with your Recognition Status!   All of the honorees will be recognized at our Annual Meeting of the Members in the summer.  Each will receive incentives throughout the year for achieving this recognition. This may include, but not limited to, marketing/media packages, technical assistance, access to trainings, access to funding resources, etc.
